Re: Bringing something in from Holland ???

Most stuff it's no different to buying in the UK, you pay local VAT and that's it. If you are thinking in te...

Re: Which make and model of Laptop ?

I think you'll need to give more information as to what you need and your budget as the choice is huge. If you want to do just a bit of web browsing or edit video or maybe play games, it all makes a big difference to the spec required.

Re: what lens for 300m roof mounted spotter

The aperture will get worse as you zoom in. The good thing is that they are cheap enough to experiment with. Unfortunately you can't have ...

Re: M42 1.4 lenses

The macro rings I've seen have had the relevant camera thread on each end and another thread to join the tubes together, be interested to hear what these are like.

Re: M42 1.4 lenses

what's the saying? 'the man who never made a mistake never made anything' There are some parts that you can buy and know that it will be fine - the E700 camera comes to mind but other stuff can be a lottery. A bit of research will help but with DIY nightvision you learn by doing and from your mistak...

Re: M42 1.4 lenses

Let me elaborate a bit. Slr and dslr camera lenses are designed to give resoloution that matches or exceeds if possible the resolution of the film or the sensor. Photographers expect to see as near perfection in the image as it's possible to get (bearing cost in mind) and they want even lighting, st...
