Hi Folks. Been out to try and help a farmer friend who has just lost the first of this years lambs to a fox :x Went out for two non consecutive nights this week (due to bloody weather) without any luck. Tried using a caller every 5 minutes or so, with rabbit distress calls, and a shot gutted rabbit...

Dave i think he's on about the gap left when focusing the eye relief usually 2/3 MM. and a 1 MM deep but as Dave says tape is better than a full plastic shim to fit the 800 to the scope

For the shim plastic lid cut down or pipe tube if it clips on so you can remove as you will probably need to wind in the eye relief or if leaving it on with tape around make it a tad smaller I need half a turn for day time

Sunshade at night

Hi all I use a wdv 800 with various scopes and t74 ir/ ruby can any one tell me is there any benefit to putting a sun shade on the scope or is it just to block out unwanted shine or reflection from the ir :think:

Good to hear ordered mine 10 days ago hopefully it will arrive befor the black ruby 2 comes out :lol:
Ruby ir now arrived and I have to say it was worth the waiting for now getting a brighter and cleaner view hope the foxes like it as much as I do

I had the same problem as you with my n550 I sent mine back to thomasjacks it cost £125 and they sent me a replacement but it did take 8 months :shock: you said this was down to just missing the the earlier shipment to pulsar

Cheers for the info I had just been lead to believe that the 2.5-16x50 was suppose to be very good or was yours one of the other options cheers craig

I've just taken off a very nice Zeiss off my .223 to put on a pretty rubbish MTC Mamba Lite. The Zeiss was unworkable with my WDV, the Mamba works. I sold a Bushnell 6500, great scope, and bought a Hawke Sidewinder; all to work with the WDV. The Bushnell had the right parallax but a grainy ir look ...
