Fired it up today and boy does this cut  One happy little lumberjack now  Do you want any more old Husqvarna chainsaws Rod :?:   there was a 266 with heated handle in a car boot sale th...

Re: Absolutely nothing to do with NV

Here you go Dave, this is the system. This is a safety video but it shows the principle. I used to make these 20 odd years ago when they were a new thing, like everything else though once more and more make them the prices bottoms out. Time to pull out then and let the others scrabble about trying t...

Interested, as I will be looking to purchase a quad and trailer at the end of this year when I get my golden handshake.
Theoreticaly it should have the benefits of all trailers, and the drawbacks of none

Re: Absolutely nothing to do with NV

Sort of Dave. A slider is one of those coil carriers, the complete hood / tilt slides open from either end. Some have a fibreglass headboard, others it's just part of the cover (like a rear flap, but at the front)

Absolutely nothing to do with NV

Might interest a few on here, the messers and bodgers amongst us, the ones that just have to modify stuff    I have a trailer here, about 8' x 5' ish, we built it a couple of years ago. Lovely trailer, tows beautifully. But, I had a brainwave  , instead of having to keepp coveri...

Re: Bit of an odd one for the lateral thinkers.

Wouldn't the heat destroy a battery peizo unit after a couple of uses? I would ideally like to be able to use it several times at least, or be cheap enough to be disposable. That was the thinking behind some component that would self destruct. Don't want much do you  :D You could drill the tr...

Re: Bit of an odd one for the lateral thinkers.

 Rod, with hindsight   might be helpful to explain what you want to ignite remotely :?: :? The push button units on the mobile gas room heaters work very similar to a "battery free" spark plug or use one of the many varieties of diesel glow plugs run from a small rechargeable 12 ...

Wire wool?

Peizo (sp?) Ignitor for remote operation?
I think all the remote igniters are 240v. Don't think battery would have the ampage for wire wool, but I'll try it.

Bit of an odd one for the lateral thinkers.

If you wanted to put some powder in a dish and light it, as in an old fashioned flash gun, what could you ingnite it with using say a 9v torch battery.(One of those little square ish ones with both terminals one end) Is there a cheapish electronic component that would go into melt down and preferabl...
