Re: Ooh, new shooting truck

Rod, update on this...well, not your shooting truck but the awning...the awning is absolutely awesome! It's endured some real rough outings. I've outgrown the stone weights and invested in two tent guidelines and two tent pegs. With the guidelines attached to the top bar and fixed to the ground with...

Some nights if I know where ...

Re: thermal or digi

as above....thermal every time  have been using the shoots HD38s for the last 3 years and bought a 30v about a month or so ago. the 30v will easily pick up a fox or badger at 300 yrds and wont give away your position unlike the IR from a NV spotter ;) cheers jock Is it similar to the HD38s...

Re: thermal or digi

Just watched a vid on that 30 looks like it performs similarly to the older hd38 and very useable. My earlier reply was going on my findings when looking though the 75mm and then going down to the 50mm which is a fair step in lens size but I wouldn't want less detection than the 50mm. I guess the xq...

Re: thermal or digi

Xq30 would be better as the bigger the lens the greater the spotting distance. I've never tried one but have got a guide thermal. That's got a 50mm lens but the older larger sensor. Still, out the other night spotted two foxes a long way out so ranged it the following day. It was over 750metres 761 ...
