Re: ward-d on off button

Of course, it would have been better if the unit didn't use a latching on/off button and used a momentary, or even better, a fixed duration timer that shuts everything down after five minutes (or whatever) of 'on time' to prevent this happening. It's what I put into my DIY builds. Momentary on, mom...

Re: OOOOOPS 2 more VF-C2 units wasted !!!

What would you recommend for potting compound then (by PM if you prefer). I was using the magic rubber not for potting but to create custom o-rings and seals for my units, buttons, membranes that kind of thing. It's totally superb for that. I guess you need a more solid compound, the trouble is I'd ...

Re: OOOOOPS 2 more VF-C2 units wasted !!!

Umm, and if you can only apply it before assembly is it still possible? I would have thought the fibreglass reinforced tape option (both sides) would give enough support and strengthening provided that the board and screen are held securely. Re: OOOOOPS 2 more VF-C2 units wasted !!!

So you incase the entire ribbon cable? Sorry, I just read the above posts. So how does this work for custom builds where you want to position the screen in a different position from standard? I can see what your getting at with regards to flex but your example given of where ribbon cables give up du...

Re: VF-2c brightness and contrast buttons

I don't know about this. I find the brightness and contrast buttons essential for different conditions and different light situations. If you want to get the balance right for the best picture on any given night you will need the buttons, or at least a button connected to the pads, if not using the ...

Re: OOOOOPS 2 more VF-C2 units wasted !!!

I am bewildered as to how this can happen. If the Oriscape BOARD is mounted correctly and securely AND the oriscape screen is mounted securely the two cannot move. I can only put this down to bodged installations; of which I have seen plenty. I've used my own setup on 243 and occasionally 308's for ...
