Re: Discovery vt2 3-12x40sf

thanks how does this aliexpress thing work ? never used it before, bit confusing to be honest ! Don't bother with AliExpress, use one of the UK sellers listed in subzeer0s post abaove. That way, if you have a problem with it or simply don't like it, you can return it and get a full refund. That's n...

Re: thermal usage

Phoenix, Thanks again for help and advice, noted you have very similar unit to what Clive is selling and you obviously approve of unit. If there are any negatives to thermal scopes in your opinion, bar possible identification situations what would they be? Nothing that would make me want to change ...

Re: Optisan EVX 3-12x44 and Warden Adder

I tried an Optisan evx 4-16x44 ffp with an addonight and frankly wasn't impressed - the controls felt sloppy and the image wasn't great.
I sent it back and bought a Hawke Frontier 3-15x50 ffp and it's a much much better scope.

Cheers

Re: thermal usage

There's no more adjustment required on a thermal scope than there is on a thermal spotter. if you're comfortable using a thermal spotter, using a thermal scope should not present any problems. Point an shoot kinda depends on the rifle you use. For flat shooting calibres like 204 and 22-250 it certai...

Re: Ludicrous Lumens

I tried a blacksun ruby illuminator which I think is around 810-820nm with the addonight and, with both the blacksun ruby and the on board 850nm IR working, the image lost a little sharpness - presumably because the camera can't get both wavelengths in focus at the same time. None of the LED based ...

Re: Cross hair position using an Addonite

CRS have designed an adaptor that allows the addonight to be mounted onto a rifle and be used as a stand alone digital scope. http://www.customriflescopes.com/shop.html#!/ADDONIGHT-00A1-1-scopeless-mount-system-fits-all-variants/p/112410552/category=15737046 This is intended to be used for short ran...

Re: Cross hair position using an Addonite

OK, I did a little investigation on this. I bought one of the early addonights and it did not have the reticle option. However I updated the firmware and now have the reticle option. Selecting the reticle option puts a simple cross hair on the screen with numbers (x and y) for horizontal and vertica...

Re: Cross hair position using an Addonite

PARD are obviously very clever people so perhaps they will make a decent Youtube to show how to use these things. After all we spent 3-4 hundred quid on these things. No, no! You misunderstand the Chinese!! They think you are as clever as them so you can work it out for yourself  Cheers Bruce

Re: Cross hair position using an Addonite

Depending on the firmware version, the addonight can generate it's own reticle - which can be turned on and off, and you can adjust it's position. However, your description of being able to adjust the position of the scope cross hairs on the screen is intriguing - I had always assumed that the only ...
