Re: Flir Breach

Hi guys, Apart from the new detector having 12um pixel detector, it also has an F1.04 lens. Sensitivity is key for a more detailed image quality, too, and it has 40 to 60mk, which is good. (sees more temperature differences) The "Movidius" image processing chip is advanced ("AI"), which is on-board...

Re: Video showing thermal performance

Assuming that Pulsar stick with ULIS cores, then the magnification of a Helion XQ50 fitted with a 12 micron core instead of the current 17 micron core would have the base magnification increased from x4.1 to x7 In fact, any Pulsar thermal spotter or scope would have it's magnification increased by a...

Re: Recording resolution

It depends on the sensor you're using to create the images you want to record. Most high sensitivity NV and thermal sensors are relatively low resolution and output analog video signals, so the best you can do is D1/960H quality. If the sensor output is analog video you cannot record in HD because t...

Re: Drone pro 10x used 2 times

Dave, You might be right, but as I understand it, the main factor was the cost difference between the FLCOS display and the OLED. My guess is that they felt the saving in manufacturing cost outweighed the loss of image quality. That's what happens when you build down to a price rather than up to a s...

Re: Drone pro 10x used 2 times

Unfortunately the supplier, Night Vision gear are no longer trading.
From the purchase date I would be absolutely certain that this Drone has the OLED display - in other words, a full spec Drone pro.

He normally gives 10% discount if you ask nicely.
With that you could get the higher magnification XQ50

Re: Drone pro 10x used 2 times

The background to this is that the original Drone Pro used an 800x600 OLED near eye display. These displays are much more expensive than the other common type of near eye display which is known as FLCOS. The image quality of the OLED display is generally considered superior to an FLCOS display of th...

Re: Drone pro 10x used 2 times

If it's 12 months old and bought from Carl Moore at NVG then it will be an original Armsaight Drone Pro - i.e it will have the OLED display and not the FLCOS display.

Re: US Military Kit

I actually have some sympathy for the big US thermal companies in this matter. Their own countries' regulations are putting a constraint on their ability to trade worldwide while their non US competitors have no such restrictions - and both groups are selling kit with the same capabilities. Peter - ...
