A friend of mine wants to put his thermal scope on his 223 but when he put it on he couldn't load it because the bolt would not open right up,it's hitting the scope.

Bouncer, first what make and model of thermal scope onto what make and model rifle next do a topic search on the forum about custom mounts etc. Also "Google is your friend" because someone somewhere has probably asked the very same or a very close question before you. Put the exact details up on here and someone will be along shortly to give you the exact answer that you are looking for

Can I enquire if you have been asked to machine a custom mount to fit a Trail XQ 50 Thermal scope to a CZ 223, a friend on nightvisionforumuk is asking as his mate is having problems with the bolt knob touching the thermal scope etc.

I can make you a mount but for a one off I charge by the hour (£54/hr) and would want to see what you require first. From past jobs I find there is usually around a day in making a one off NV mount plus anodising or Cerakote.

Sort of a similar problem , this was on a Tikka 223 , in the end fitted optalock bases then a stainless picatinny extended rail , bear with me the Tikka uses i think 15mm dovetails ,isnt the cz527 15mm ? if so with a bit of looking at possibly fit bases with a rail, if the stop was removed the optalocks may even fit, or Contessa do a dedicated extended rail for the pulsars , there on the Alan Rhone website, very expensive though
