Unable to Locate Battery for Maplin DVR

Postby x2lls » 16 Feb 2015, 00:36

Hi All,

I've tried loads of sites, but apart from one (in the USA with a delivery of £29!), I've had no luck.

It's a kb-04 li-ion 3.7v 1400mah, with four contacts.

Would anyone know where I can get one from a UK supplier?

Paul

Hello.
You only need to know the size, thickness X width X length. A Lipo 3.7 volt battery for a Sony PS3 or some of the other games controllers have a battery number like 053550 being 5mm thick 35mm wide 50mm long. Measure the maximum size of the battery compartment in all of the three directions and send me a photograph of your battery. Your battery would probably be common to some other games controller. Thanks Phil

the maplins dvr looks very similar to the angel eye.....and iirc......the angel eye uses the same battery as the old nokia 3310 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/18164599 ... 108&ff19=0

may be worth contacting one of the sellers on the bay for sizes and spec ;)

If all else fails you could try ringing these, part of RFconcepts who have sold most mini DVR's in the past.

Thank you gents, for the pointers.

It definitely looks like the Nokia BLC-2 Battery will be the one I'm after.
It measures 53mm x 38mm x 7mm, well according to my closeup eyesite!
I've tried attaching a picture of my battery, but I'm getting an error saying 'Board attachment quota reached', so here's a link on Onedrive
https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=7 ... hoto%2cJPG

At the prices they are available, it's worth taking a gamble to try one.

Best regards

Paul

Hello Paul.
Just had a rummage around and I have a few NOKIA BLC-2 3.6 volt batteries, sizes are 7.14mm thick by 38.27mm wide by 53.08mm long with the positive contact just above the N in the Nokia name and the negative contact 12.5mm directly below that position on the same end . I will get one or two charged up and see if they are holding a full charge. Also it's worth a look in your local car boot sales for people getting rid of old mobile phones because that battery is very common to several models etc. Thanks Phil
