Eye bell diameter research

Post by some bloke » 14 Mar 2015, 03:20

I have a new project to introduce soon and would like to get some information across a wide range of scope eyebell diameters.

Could any volunteers indicate if there is an IR control or other interference to an otherwise uncluttered consistent diameter eyebell.

Most seem to be very near to a round millimeter figure such as 38mm, 40mm, 42mm etc so it might be good to keep it to 'full' millimeters. I seem to recall reading about a tapered eyebell too - which I might have a solution for.

I'll start the ball rolling, please copy what is below then paste and edit it into your own update so the last post contains the fullest detail:

43mm:
Hawk Varmint and Panorama range.

42mm:
Whitetail Classic, 4-40 WA

39mm:
Burris Laserscope.
Tasco 1.75-6x40 AO
Whitetail classic 2.5-8x36 WA

38mm:
Unbranded 8x56
Weaver Classic K-6, 6x38

I just know some more of you guys have a scope or four handy and a few minutes to spare with a vernier across the eyebell for me.

Thank you very much gentlemen.
The eyebell adaptor I'm making will be fairly flexible until secured - so to the nearest .5mm is all the detail needed.

Paul - is that the objective (front) end or the eyebell please?
