1/1.8" CMOS camera RunCam Night Eagle (Black & White Video Only, No Color)

Post by Yurgen » 30 Sep 2016, 18:48

Hi guys,
I came across to the new 1/1.8" CMOS camera RunCam Night Eagle 0.00001Lux Global WDR 800TVL Black & White Camera
http://shop.runcam.com/runcam-night-eagle/
Rancam claims it is is a military grade extremely outstanding night vision camera that can only capture black & white video at any time. Wow :D
Surely it is the advertising decoy. Information about it very fiew, but the sponsored video is very promising :)
Any thoughts on this?

That looks very impressive and the 'artist' demonstrated there was not much lag going on - nor smear trails behind the cigarette as he moved it.

I'll be keeping an eye on this thread thanks.

Interesting, it says private shading, is this the same as privacy masking for building crosshair's

I have the owl version in my spotter and its great ! What do I like ? Besides the camera being fantastic in low light and in IR . It's form factor is very small compared to e700 type when stripped down and the large voltage range is a big + !
This new one is even better

If I didn't have this much camera's and other nv stuff around I would just buy one. They're really not that expensive and should do better than the e700 if that first test video is reliable. For what I'm doing (close range ratting) an e700 is overkill and I couldn't justify having another camera. On the other hand, very curious what this Night Eagle could do with the Pentax 1.4 75mm in a spotter. No IR needed at all I would think but IR makes spotting rats easy with their little head lights blinking :D
