Thanks guys.

Tjensen - it's a 50mm fixed focus lens and a bullet cam that has osd with privacy zones, there are loads that will work depending on how much you want to pay and the quality your after :)

Interesting build. Good looking tube.

Looks like you used 30mm Carbon tube? Do you know what wall thickness? I find some 30mm OD X 26mm, 27MM and 28mm ID.

My lens is a 100mm heavy piece and it will go on a .22Mag or .233. Will the 2mm wall (30x26mm) tube be strong enough?
I have never used Carbon fiber. Will normal tools cut and drill it OK? Dremel tools?
How about glue? Does super Glue work? Or some special stuff? :?:

Thanks,
Jim

Hi Jim.

It is 30mm OD carbon tube, 28mm ID that I used for this build...sourced on the well known auction site.
I can't say what wall thickness you'd require, nearly everything I do is through trial and error and what you are after isn't something I've tried. However, carbon fibre is a lot stronger than it looks, it may be worth getting a small piece to test for a 'point of failure'.
I only had normal household tools when I made this so I wouldn't say anything special is needed (though some things would make the job easier, the carbon is pretty tough on drill bits and hacksaw blades.)
As for glue, I swear by E6000. I have used it for allsorts over the years and it has never once failed. I did used superglue for some initial building but I just didn't like it.
