It's good to see someone trying a mirror build - very well done
I think one or two used star diagonals like these with the E700 mounted at one end and the other end attached to the DSA

The VF-2C board and display make builds like these difficult. The new near eye display discussed here
viewtopic.php?f=29&t=17828 would make this type of build much easier

Cheers

I used a mirror from a lidl telepscope star diagonal, it worked pretty well but I'm sure it had some degree of magnification.

I started with that 90degree fitting Phoenix but it's massive (about as big as my whole project box).
I have been working on an off on a mirrored near eye for 2 years (the first one being over twice the size) and have been using this one since early this year so the new display you refer to was not known to me. Having read about it recently, I've got one coming on the slow boat so who knows where this will lead...

I found that the dielectric mirror from an astro telescope works brill. not cheap though.

wanderingkurt,

Thank you very much.

I never did such build so anyone who did it deserves respect.

With such builds we have basic frame for our future diy near eye builds.

Oh yes man! You are idea generator.

This thing has perfectly centered mirror inside.

I will not rush into anything but I will have to build this now.

What I noticed Bruce that you are true electronic expert here which had build thermals and other diy stuff but you've never build this thingy.

Do you also plan to build it?

Lightmesser,
I have built an add-on using a mirror - it's similar to 22-250 jocks build, but I used an OLED display instead of the VF-2C.
Curse Photobucket for the lack of pictures.
If someone can give me a link to a site that allows free uploads without adding any nasty stuff then I'll put up some photographs.

Cheers

Here is one but it requires logging: https://i.imgur.com

Here is another one that allows upload over i.imgur.com servers - it does not requires logging, just few seconds of upload and you are ready to post.

I got diagonals and they don't look to big but I have a problem with finding suitable DSA. Any link guys? Or any other idea for diy DSA?
