80inch Near Eye Display Monocular

Post by Frogman Ladue » 01 Jun 2018, 19:50

I dunno if this one made it to the boards yet, but I just came across a interesting build over this side of the pond.

The fella was using a near eye display I had not seen before.

Certainly one of the cheaper (and the smallest units) available on the US market.

The screen on this near eye is really small.
Its a shame really, when the community first found it on ebay we all went nuts hoping for the best but its not as good compared to the VF-2C

I am currently building near eye mirror device with it, but i dont think it will be useful for anything except an air rifle or maybe a 22lr.

Cheers
Paul

Hello Frogman

Paul is quite right, we all went nuts and i even put them in my shop but in the back of my mind, i was also thinking they will not replace the vf2c that i also sell. Don't get me wrong, they do have a sharp crisp screen but they just don't have a great immersive feeling like the vf2c because of the way the screen is manufactured, they are also self contained apart from a switch or battery, however i wouldn't want to put one on a high power rifle as the eye relief is not good enough for that. It is cheaper and if you want one i can supply but the VF2C is still hard to beat ( but not impossible as i have a few treats on the way soon  )

I got a quote for a near eye oled display, the quote came back. There cheap model was $4,000!!!

They do have some oled drivers but they are all custom to the display.

Well when mine come in with higher resolution than the VF2C you can nearly halve that $4000 and take a zero off

Contact Yunan Olightek in China and buy the OLED display with the driver board already fitted and both already installed in that nice display you linked to - all for around $600

I've bought OLED displays, driver boards and optics from them a few times and never had any problem.

Well thats a little more realistic, still at $600 a $15 5" screen works

Hi,
You made a great device. If you add to it the generator board of the aim mark, then there will be a ready sight. :) Board size 20x20mm, power supply from 3V to 5V. The board places a crosshair on the image from the camera. If it is interesting, I will write in more detail.
