Scopeless display and shock

Post by paulsr » 28 Aug 2018, 05:12

Is there any needed precaution to protect the innards if the monitor for shock when using a larger caliber?
Any issues of there is nothing done to the display?

Thanks

In some cases yes, i harden all my weapon mountable rangefinders if they are going on a customers 308 as the ribbon cable inside would rip after prolonged recoil abuse.
Some devices are ok, it very much depends on how they are made and what the recoil is going to be, you may have a high power rifle but if its heavy, the vibration is absorbed more. But on the other hand a lower recoil rifle on a light rifle could be worse !

Kind regards CRS
