Doubler advice

Post by spready » 11 Sep 2017, 15:53

Thinking of fitting a doubler to my N970, just wondered if the original type that where used for the N550 would work? I found one on eBay and also on google for £149, or does the Sony lens still take some beating?

http://www.lpg-kits.com/pulsar.htm

Would that be ok or that overpriced? Does the n970 benefit from having a doubler fitted? Sorry for all the questions , it seems like ages since I used a n550 with a doubler

I use the Daniel pinto adaptor and Sony lense on the rimfire very clear picture quality. Don't trust doublers on center fire to be honest from past experience. ..and I alway check zero on every outing as lense does get knocked in transit.

HI mate
I've got the pinto on my 870 , with the Sony doubler, and it never missed a beat , and picture quality much better imo

Hi
Tried the exact one you have shown a link to on my N970 lrf and had nothing but a bad head from start to finish with it.
Every time I took it out the zero was way off. Clarity was better but not worth a carrot if you cant hit anything.
Tried and tried with it, but never ever did it hold a zero with it on. Returned the product and although the image isn't quite as good the scope has never missed a beat since!
