I saw that too, according to this guy who’s selling the Drone with different specs...

Think as kevgun has said we could do with hearing from Carl on the matter

The guy from Night Vision Thermal UK confirmed that his DPs came with a different (higher resolution  ) sensor and different display to Carl's previously supplied units.

Given that the DPs success has been primarily due to its superb 752x582 sensor and corresponding AMOLED display, you have to wonder how the new (and possibly last) model of the DP stacks up against its predecessor.

Well I’m glad I have my 2 Drones although I’ve had the odd glitch with them I wouldn’t sell them anytime soon. I can’t believe that you would stop making a product that is at the top of its game, I mean what else is there that will compete with it in a digital format.

Maybe Carl, will shed some light soon, I have a couple of Mates who want to purchase one when their available.

Darren,
I think the guy from Night Vision thermal can't read data sheets.
According to the Armasight (FLIR) datasheet for the Drone pro, the sensor resolution is the same as it has been since the colour version first came onto the market i.e 976x582
http://www.armasight.com/digital-night- ... ne-pro-10x
What has changed is that the resolution of the OLED near eye display has gone from 800x600 to 1280x960
Clearly increasing the OLED resolution will improve the image somewhat, but a 1280x960 sensor would be HD and therefore incompatable with a standard video output. Given that the data sheet states that the Drone has a analog video output with PAL 768x574 pixel resolution then I think that confirms that the sensor is not HD.
Regarding the future of the Drone pro, I think I'd trust Carl Moore's opinion on the situation far more than someone doing grey imports

Cheers

Bruce,

I couldn't agree more, but Carl doesn't appear to be saying much at the moment.

I must confess that due to the specs provided on Carl's web site, I incorrectly assumed the sensor and display to both be 768x574

Hi Keefer here been on site for years never had anything to say. Just learnt a lot. Sadly first post not a good one. Drone will be no more. Flir are dropping the drone after last order which Is pre order only. Warranty will be back to US only and the screen is downgraded. There will be no out of warranty support save back to US with a possibility of German support unless Carl is prepared to do it of his own back. I beleve he won’t have access to spares though. I to have tried to contact Carl with no sucesss. So there it is Drone Pro RIP.
