Just been playing around with a cz 452. in .22. I've had the trigger done all good now been shooting ok but read about the floating barrel which mine was not. So either washer under the second bolt or sand down ( tyred washer first made it v bad ) so stuck with sanding down where it was touching . It was still touching a by the second bolt but shot v good . Thought I'll take a little more off, now it's free floating to the 2 nd Bolt. Just been and tried it and it's all over the place. Any ideas where I've gone wrong. ????
I have the Brno mod 2 eh just he same as the 452 , I did the same with my old stock sanded and washer under barrel lug ,shot great , now its in a Boyds thumbhole and is free floated and stll shoots well , what I noticed was the torque on the screws so I would try that if you have a torque wrench great , if not trial and error till you get the sweet spot have a look here you might have to join but a great site http://www.rimfirecentral.com/forums/sh ... p?t=568736
Torqued up its better but I've twisted the little screwdriver head off 25 ft lb is a lot. Winchester subs are they any good what group size at 50 yards. Can get 3 tight then 2 will drop out 2 " low ( dam )
I can get 3-5 in an inch circle at 60 yds with winnie subs, do you clean it couldnt tell you last time I cleaned mine just a rub down with an oily rag other thing to watch is the crown if using rods etc check it with a cotton bud and see if it pulls any fibers out the bud, remember not all torques work in the same rifles some will have different sweet spots just finding it, just remembered I had something like that a while ago and just cleaned the chamber with a cotton bud not the rifeling just the chamber where the round sit , it was well sooted up just a thought
Just been out with a friend punching paper he has a ruga 10/22 and that did the same 3 good ones and then throws one off we tried different ammo too most of which left bigger groups all not very good.the whinchester subs 42gr left a tidy group apart from the ones it throws off. But back to the cz since you said tourque it up it's a lot better . 25ft lb ish on the screws magic number . It's never been cleaned tho (May help )
good as the old saying goes if its not broken dont fix it, it was only the chamber I cleaned on mine couldn't tell you the last time I cleaned the barrel and even that was just a pull through with a bore snake
I have a CZ Style, nickel plated, plastic stock. The barrel is hard up against the forend of the stock for it's entire length. This rifle won the club 110 yard bench rest club comp with a group of 5/8". If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
