IR mounts to scope

Post by sauer » 22 Jul 2018, 08:42

Hi folks

Ok I have an Antsupplies quick release mount that rings onto scope it’s ok .... was good price
(read cheapImage)
BUT find it’s quite “ loose” lot of play In it and it’s not finished the best ... easily marks the scope of not careful which difficult in the dark

Image

I love way it on or off in a minute

Sooooo
What mounts are you guys using ?
That simple lad in use to put on or off scope
And solid stays where you direct it?

I’m using with a WD800L so needs to mount on scope not the NV unit

Cheers

The ones ive looked at were from Taclight or custom riflescopes , Laserlurch do a ball mount , deben/tracer do a ball socket torch mount and the usual adjustable mounts similar to what you have now , pleased with the ones im using now , scott country is the importer for wicked lights , as they dont ship internationally......

I’ve gone round the usual houses on torch mounts.....adjustable ones as per the first post to Optilocks rings screwed to QR lever mounts (too tight to buy the Laserluchs although Microglobe have them cheaper than anyone)...... I’ve ended up with these on Drone Pro’s, Photon Xtremes and more recently on one of Clive’s Adder’s on a mate’s day ‘scope...No faffing about and they keep the torch closer to the scope which helps to put the rifle’s mod in the shadow of the ‘scopes objective reducing glare back into the ‘scope.

The thumbwheel ones are easier to use than the nut ones and to align the torches I’ve only ever used a strip or two of bricklayers DPM to angle the torch body ...... various torches....NM800’s and T20/TR38 Sunnrangers.

I fitted them in conjunction with these where there’s no accessory rail on the scope...

Another budget solution that works is this one:

https://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/High-Profile-3 ... h+pro.TRS0

(eBay search under ‘High profile QD torch mount’ if the link is duff)

In conjunction with one of the scope mounted picatinny rails that Fizz has linked to above, this will take a 50mm torch such as a Sunnranger etc. and clear the objective on a 56mm scope.

Lower QD mounts available for other smaller diameter torch/scope combinations.

I just use a normal 1" QD lever release scope mount and rotate the body of the torch in it for alignment. Seems to work okay with my Ruby Sunranger, T50 and NM800.
