NM800 or better

Post by andy66 » 07 Dec 2016, 20:45

Ive decided to get a gun mountable torch for lamping. Today I had a look at the Nightmaster 800 and was pretty impressed but I have a question is there a better or equal to torch out there that is cheaper than the NM? It will be used on rimmy and CF for fox and rabbits and ideally have different colour pills available.

Cheers
Andy

Hi I have the nm800 but after seeing my mates t67 from ward-d and get made the nm look like a candle light, I'm going over to that one and only £42

Ian Sirrel at https://www.facebook.com/Ir.light.builds/?__xt__=31.[702864862%2C%22intro_card%22%2C%7B%7D]&pnref=lhc

I've been running a white light two battery NM800 for a while now and focused down at full power mode its quite a light sabre. Just checking we are talking like for like. Are you saying Clive's T67 White light or even a Red will blow the socks off it? If so thats good news as no one likes nm's prices. Absolute focused power here, nothing more.

Just double checking (I like recommending with the most up to date information the right kit).

Thought I would now update, I have now made my own pills for the t38 and t67 using drivers and leds from fastech costing about £3 to £5 to make each pill. Got a chance last night to compare them to a nightmaster 800 and ledray 900. We tested red, green and white light. So the T67 was brighter and had better throw over both nm and the ledray. The T38 did not have as much throw as the nm or the ledray but was very close, when testing for brightness at a wall 70m away the t38 was pertty much the same as the nm and ledray. Glad I now went down this route as I now have 2 torches 6 pills and still cheaper than a nm or ledray.

Hi Andy,
Could you help me select a high powered pill and 3 mode driver for the T67 MK2?

I am considering white , red and green.

I already have the factory shipped 850nm and 940nm pills (AS Oslon Black IR LED ) which I hope are close to 'the best a man can get'.

Fastech have such a range, I'm lost in the selection process.

Thanks

Hi mate if you mean factory as in the ones that come from china then they will be pretty poor. As far as I am aware the only decent ir pills are the ones Ian or Clive build.

As for the T67 mk2 I wouldn't know where to get the bare pills from but for the white I use this

http://intl-outdoor.com/noctigon-xm20-v ... p-845.html 20mm board

or this

http://intl-outdoor.com/noctigon-xm16-v ... p-844.html 16mm board

This driver for the white
https://www.fasttech.com/products/1612/ ... ght-driver

This Red led
http://intl-outdoor.com/noctigon-xp20-v ... p-819.html 20mm board

or

http://intl-outdoor.com/noctigon-xp16-v ... p-824.html 16mm board

This driver for the red
https://www.fasttech.com/p/1122300

As for the green I have not experimented much with it but here is what I used
https://www.fasttech.com/products/1609/ ... emitter-on
and
https://www.fasttech.com/p/1122400

Be sure to check what size led board fits the t67 mk2 pill before you order and use a good thermal paste such as grizzly. Hope that helps.

Thanks Andy

I'll take a look at the links .

Yes the t67 is factory, so I'll have to explore the upgrade options .

Cheers
