Do you guys think it's better to have the single mode one rather than the 3 mode then?

It makes it more versatile for me with the 3 mode low 5% medium 30% high power 100% .

Yes i did.
Hussar has been speaking with Trevor cartwright who is making them and that is what he was told.
At the moment i have the 3 mode one and last night i was having difficulty once i got it on full power to memorise it and come back on, on full power with the first press of the button -------might be me not operating it correctly but Trevor Cartwright has offered to swap it for a full powered one, i can always widen the beam to reduce the power if needed or buy the dimmer when it come available (dragonfly has always been full power/flooding beam).

Any one else had problems mastering this 3 mode ???.

Personally 3 power mode models are a pain in the arse. Single mode and open to flood if you want to reduce intensity .

Yes it can be a bit tricky geting it to memorise the full power but I have always managed it, I think when the dimmer is available for it this will make it the best ir illuminator on the market .

For them that's got the 3 mode one how do you get it to memorise full power mode then ?
I have been half pressing the switch in the off position watching it in the n/v until its on the full power then fully pressing the switch and having it running on full power, if i leave it running on full power for 10 seconds or more, turn it off, the next time i turn it back on, it comes on on low power, (what have i been doing wrong ???)----------the answer might help others that might have similar problems, and or buy the full powered one to avoid this problem.

I have exchanged mine for a full powered one ill widen the beam to reduce power if i need to -----and maybe get the variable powered switch when its comes available ------if i need it.

I assume that you cannot just change the tail cap to make it full power only ?

I doubt it - like LED based illuminators, the power control is in the laser driver circuitry.
Brief presses of the on/off switch merely sends control signals to the driver to vary the power.
