Thanx!
But that is so dissapointing.....
Could it be you have a 125 degrees versus 30 degrees? Then the 30 degrees is same as 125degrees but with optics...?
Plenty of space for the feet of those plastic Tir reflectors around it... just have to find a good enough match.

Just have one in the mail somewhere in a plain or train or by car.
Precise like this one from Ebay: RAYTEC RAYMAX 100 RM100-F-30-OL1, auction# 331056338561.
http://www.ebay.nl/itm/RAYTEC-RAYMAX-10 ... 4d147ed681

Edit: on Raytec's site they have the Raymax Classic and the Raymax Platinum. Hope is back on track.

You may be right. It well be a 120 degree. I am not 100% sure it was so long ago that I bought it. I checked my Ebay purchase history and it only lists the last 6 months.

The one I have differs from the one in your link. It has adjustments. The one I have has one wire going in and thats it.

The one I got from the fellow on Ebay is 25W, from 12 to 24 volt.
It has a grey powdercoated heatsink, if it makes a difference to earlier versions.
The build is nice but it's use is limited.

It has 20 leds with TIR-optics. They glow in the dark but nightvision looks through the dark perpspex cover.
I found the intensity very dissapointing, maybe 20 metres at most, thats with a Gen2 tube.
Probably are the Osram Dragons.

Any trick to remove the cover without destroying it?
Seems to be glued or clipped non-reversible.

Try a hairdryer around the edges for a few minutes and then gently try to lever off the the cover with a thin blade tool.

Opened mine up. The shell has a 4mm rim that is inserted with some Polymer glue to the aluminium base.
I dremeled it open, but if you make a craddle with 2 screws in the outer end for each corner you might have handle enough to pull it open without damaging the shell.

Raymax 100 Fusion, 25W.
Inside are 20 x Osram Dragon, the ceramic rectangular type, with TIR-reflectors clipped on to of it.

There are two boards inside, one with the electronics, and one with the leds, connected with a connectur. Doh.
They are wired in 4 rows of 5 in series. Each string got 8V delivering 1,6V to the led.

Its a very professional driver and heatsink, so I will probably change it to a white floodlight.

When I bought mine. I was hoping it had Osram Dragons fitted. Was well disappointed to see the 200 odd little lead's. The one you have should be a good thrower. I am assuming that if the rear of the Raymax has the dimmer facility ir will be the same as the one you have. If nothing but a single wire coming out of the rear. Do not buy it. It is the same as the one I bought.

Thanks for sharing the info.
