viewfinder wiring info, please post your findings

Postby 22-250jock » 30 Jun 2013, 09:25

as suggested by Terry,
thought we needed a thread to help out with wiring for camcorder viewfinders

so the two model I have used are both old 8mm camcorders, the Sanyo VM-D66P and the Olympus VX42

they are in fact the same camcorder, just branded under different names ;)

Image

the viewfinder is removed by simply undoing two screws and unplugging,

Image

the wires as you look at the plug shown in the picture are, from left to right..........left. +5v....middle 0v (earth)....right AV.1v

hope this helps

cheers jock

JVC GR-AX25

Camcorder runs off 6v. Assuming viewfinder does the same. Works fine.

Connector with 6 wires. One is brown the rest are grey.

Starting with the brown wire to the left;

1 - + (Brown)
2 - + Video
3 - Gnd
4 - ?
5 - ?
6 - +
