NEW 300 BAR, 20L, BOC NITROGEN TANKS

Post by BIGJIM » 16 Apr 2017, 07:59

HELLO.
New on here.
Just found this.
BOC have just taken over the LINDE company.
They now have the LINDE GENIE industrial gases that come in fancy, handy looking, 300 BAR, 10L and 20L (water volume) bottles/tanks with built in digital pressure gauges. Normal looking BOC Nitrogen industrial bottles are only filled to 250 BAR...(no good for PCP's, have one in work to charge up dump truck suspension units to 175 psi.)

These could be used instead of a scuba tank, to fill your PCP directly. No regulator needed. Get a fill pipe made up. Take it back to BOC and swap for a new one, when low.
Don't know yet about tank rental or refill costs.

p.s. Nitrogen is dry. No corrosion issues in your gun. It is also used on aircraft and on race cars/bikes, replacing the need for air, in their tyres and suspension.

This might make sense depending on tank rental an refill costs, location of BOC dealer, and location of scuba tank refill shop (saving hassle & travel time). Maybe 2 or 3 guys could chip in together? 20 LITRES IS A FAIR AMOUNT OF SHOOTING. Might make a lot of sense for a person or a couple of guys with high consumption FAC rated guns, with a BOC dealer in town, and your scuba refilling guy 50 miles away!

Just under £40 for the large one, but not sure if there's rental on top of that. Oh, and Linde took over BOC, not the other way round  Think they may also own Energas as well. I do know industrial gas costs a fortune, they charge rental, fill, handling charge and something like £50 delivery.

Thanks rod
Is the 40 QUID for the gas, as in, the exchange refill costl?
Was just on the Linde-gas web site.
They also do an EVOS 33L/300 BAR, and MOBI 10L/300 BAR cylinders.

That 33L cylinder would be perfect for an FAC user living in the sticks, or far away from a scuba filler. Maybe 1 fill every year or 2!

I've heard that "Some" drivers from such as Energas will sell you a full size cylinder for cash, :shh: some of those are 300 bar. They last for years (so I've been told).
