Actually, the old and now discontinued Apex 75 comes closer to the performance of the WT1 75-3 than any of the current Trail thermal riflescopes.
However, the Apex 75 uses and old model 25 micron sensor whereas the the WT1 75-3 uses a modern 17 micron sensor.
In addition, the lens on the WT1 is better at f1.0 than the f1.2 lens in the Apex. Also the OLED display on the WT1 is better (800x600) than that in the Apex (640x480)
I don't believe that any new Apex 75s are available, but if you can get a good condition used one for not much money then it's an excellent buy.

Cheers

Bought one on the last group buy, what you get is a unit that has been found to be the best available model out there for the price, however the group buy means you are getting it at a better price as well, complete in a Peli type case as well. Clive also has the worry of any delays through shipping etc should they occur, and keeps you updated throughout. Having bought one on the last group buy I'm more than pleased with it, and been treated as a valued customer as well. Its a no-brainer in my view, Clive's backup is there from when you order to delivery, then throughout the warranty period. Plus tips on zeroing it in, he is a fund of knowledge on the unit, uses one himself for his personal shooting, you cant go wrong, unless of course you don't buy one. deerwarden

Hi Clive ,
Without being bias ,
How does the WTI 75-3 compare/ stack up against any of the pulsar trail50 models ?
Will you be doing another group buy any time soon ? ( January perhaps  )

Clive
Hi beakie74,

Others have mentioned it, but the sum of parts, display, thermal core and lens are all superior in their own ways, which results in more system magnification, better system resolution and better thermal sensitivity for challenging conditions.

It's what I use myself and I'm more than happy with it, even checking everything new in the world of thermal rifle scopes frequently!

One thing I will say is the WT1 doesn't have all the extra bells and whistles of other models but it is absolutely rock solid. I've had mine on my .22 Hornet getting on 2 years now and I have zeroed it once when I put it on there. No POI shift and no mysteriously missed foxes. 8-)

Cheers

Bruce i’ve used both Apex XD75 and Apex XQ50 in the field and the image quality and sharpness is better with the new model, due to the new sensor. There’s only 0.2x difference between them in optical mag, it’s actually quite noticeable the image difference.

Hi All
Could anyone tell me the weight of this unit and also the WT1-50
I am interested in a thermal scope and would ideally like to have a look at one first, so if anyone in the North Yorkshire area would be kind enough to let me have a look through theirs it would be appreciated.
I did email Clive but haven't had a reply as yet.
Thanks
Dave
