A 12 micron 384x288 core with a 75mm lens will give you close to Drone Pro optical magnification. I reckon a few people would buy that.

It’ll be a 320core when it arrives, easier to multiply to a 640pixel screen. Looks like ITAR has been tweaked recently, US thermal vendors were griping that other countries were making better and selling more thus able to invest more, negating export restrictions. What this might mean to availability of FLIR stuff we’ll have to see. I welcome a spec/price war.... we get more cool stuff for less ££

Any idea who’s going to make the moves? FLIR seems to be doing its old game of announcing stuff only for it to take years to finally arrive.... annoying Americans no end ;-)

Just seen on the Shot Show preview that Pulsar are to introduce a Trail rifle scope with an integrated laser range finder, looks like the one strapped on to the Apex, and a thermal binocular called the Accolade.

https://www.iwa.info/en/ausstellerprodu ... ing-scopes Thanks for the heads up... more types of good stuff, but as warned, no more cheaper stuff. “High Res”, looks like maybe 640 and with a 50mm lens on. Could be costly.

PS https://www.all4shooters.com/en/mobile/ ... inoculars/ so 2 options, interesting to see almost th same magnification, just the pixel count between them.

2019... FLIR of late have launched things that have either yet to hit market or were cancelled. I’d wait till it is available and see what other people have brought out in the meantime

As it's a rifle scope and falls under ITAR I doubt it.

Peter could well be on the money with timescale too because at the moment the interface between the Boson core and micro display isn't quite there yet. ;)

Cheers

Boson was announced nearly 2yrs ago and only just making it into available products that were announced a year ago. The prices are not as low as you’d hope with tiny pixels and the 640core is still dream-ware... will it be spotted in the wild in 2018. Time for others to capitalise and grab market share.

Would anyone consider thermal binos? You'd just get both eyes night vision knackered, can't see how would buy them, security guards?
