i went out with the Trail for the frist time last night i only used it as a spotter
as i have to order a Dovetail to Weaver / Picatinny Rail for it to fit my gun

anyway when i was using thermal lastnight ever so often it would freeze for a second or two
it did it 5 or 6 times i have no idea why its doing this? i have sent a pm to ian im just waiting for him to get back to me
to see why its doing this? but apart from that its was it was excellent /what a game changer

Hi anthony
Try alan rhone for a recnagel to picatrinny adaptor..ok the freezing is when the unit is re calibrating..
This does not happen with the ward wt series of scopes!!! If you ever want to look through 1, i am arrange a viewing my friend has the 75-3 35- 3 and soon a 50-3 will be a available also..you are not far away ab an hour..
But the only trouble with looking through 1 is you would want to buy one!! They are absolutely fantastic

i have the trail andyou can set it for auto calibrate like you describe or semi where it will just do it when you press the button (if image degrades thru time while viewing) then there is also manual i think where the shutter does not close but you cover the lens instead.
i have noticed a countdown on the display so the calibration does not spoil a shot too .good idea.

Have you suffered any POI shift from external temp change, ie home/room temp to outside for a while in the cold nights ?

Depending on your shooting setup the cold or hot does cause poi shift and it can cause some weird results too.
