Pulsar question !

Post by poppy mae » 03 Feb 2018, 10:52

Is there really a £1000 difference between a xp50 640 x480 @ 17 um sensor and the xq50f 384 x 288 @ 17 um ? Obviously going to give a better image and detail , but how much / versus value ? just curiousity really , in reality could buy a nice vehicle with the price of the xp50 ! :D :D :D

The difference in price is purely down to the difference in cost of a 640x480 sensor against a 384x288 sensor, and that is around £1000
Having used thermals with 50mm lenses and both sizes of sensors, I much prefer the image produced by the 640 core.
It doesn't let me see any further but, to me, the image is much smoother and easier on the eye.
In value for money terms, the XQ38F is the best bang for your buck.
