wild game wg905 thermal imager

Post by gedrick » 04 Aug 2018, 11:59

I have been looking to buy a thermal imaging riflescope and found this on aliexpress. I haven't been able to find any reviews for it. Can't believe the size and weight. Has anyone any experience of it ?

Not worth it - and here's why
The main points of the spec are:
25mm objective lens
ULIS 17 micron 384x288 sensor
Those 2 combined will give you a detection range of approx 650m on a fox sized target and an optical magnification of around x1.1
640x480 near eye display (not OLED)
built in rangefinder
The flip out screen and handle are a gimmick
Price is $3800 which is approx £2970. When it gets here you WILL pay VAT of £593 and maybe some import duty.
That will make the total price at least £3560.
You will have no warranty and no legal protection since it was not bought from within the EU
Compare that to a Pulsar Apex LRF XQ38 thermal riflescope
38mm objective lens
ULIS 17 micron 384x288 sensor
Those 2 combined gives a detection range of approx 1000m on a fox size target and a magnification of x2.1
640x480 OLED near eye display
Built in rangefinder
Price is £2980 and it's normally possible to get 10% off that from some suppliers which would make it approx £2680
You would have a full manufacturers warranty and all the legal rights that come with buying from a supplier within the EU

Cheers
