Black Sun NM pill getting an update

Post by cliveward » 13 Dec 2016, 16:18

Hi All,

As part of our continuous improvement, we've been having a fiddle about and updated the design of our Black Sun NM pill so that it now accepts the 20mm Bergquist star instead of the inferior 16mm copper one. Should have the new pills from our CNC engineers in a couple of weeks.

Cheers

The 20mm Bergquist star dissipates more heat from the LED.

So a bit more power and better life / reliability for the LED.

The berquist stars are just the 'proper job' imo....its what 99% of us used in our d.i.y builds. All the oslons marky and i sold in the early days were on berquist stars
oslon black drivers

when asking for advice, please include what n.v device and/or illumination you already have (if any) and what rifles you intend to use them on...cheers

They are indeed the de facto standard.

Visited our CNC engineers today and they had 6 metres of brass bar stock ready to go through the machine. Should get a few pills out of it.

Cheers

Hi All,

Picked up 300 machined pills from our sub contract CNC machinists earlier this week and these are now in production.

Very nice job they have made of it too.

Hi Clive.
I know mine will be arriving any day now, just wandering if you know if they will work with the rotary NM tail switch please ?

I haven't tried one, but I think the power control on the IC tailswitch is integral to that system so I don't think you should use it with the Black Sun pill.
