Thanks for the info Clive.
I have just ordered an 800L (also some spare bits for my 700 in the message), so I wont be sending my spare 700 to you for upgrade now.

Hi Clive,

Do you know a price and time scale to upgrade my 700 to a new spec 800L? I'm away on holiday in 3 weeks so would be ideal if I could send it for upgrade while I'm away?

Cheers BS

Nice one mate. If you dont mind me asking how long was your unit away and what sort of cost did the upgrade cost?
I have been considering the upgrade myself since my interest.

Hi All,

Sorry I don't know the full price for upgrades at the moment. I'll put them up once I know.

Excuse my absence from the thread for a while. I've just not been in the office due to chasing after suppliers.

The clamps and parts have come back from anodising and look absolutely brilliant though!

The last hurdle and the reason for the lack of recent update is something that I assumed was sorted and that is the actual finish of the housing.

I specified a flat bead blasted finish and that's what we were quoted for by the supplier. Unfortunately it transpires at the last knockings that they haven't done this before.

Now they are turfing around getting sample pieces done in various media.

The test pieces that the photos are from have all just come off the machines and then lightly abraded with scotchbright to remove the machining marks. It doesn't look bad, but I want this to be 'perfect'. We've all waited long enough so we might as well have it 100%. Especially when the aluminium parts look so good!

Cheers

Looking good Clive. I would definately be interested in a full upgrade from 700 to 800s once things are sorted out. Obviously i would like this done before the dark evenings come back in and i use the unit the most.
Keep us posted.

Just had a parcel delivered, YES!!!!!!!!! Turned out it was a fishing weight mould that I ordered. Damn! The weight goes on. That bit was a joke, the rest is true.
