Wanted Cheap side focus scope

Post by gunnybedford » 08 Apr 2018, 19:20

Hi
Thinking about changing the scope on my .22LR, to one with side focus to make things easier with a ward NV add on. So was wondering if anyone had one for sale ? As its going on a .22LR don't need anything to exotic or expensive ! would prefer a mildot reticle and ideally tactical adjustable type turrets, anything out there that might be suitable ? thanks Neil

I might be onto nothing here but. Have a fox firearms 4x16x50 side focus scope not for sale but my point is I’m going to try it with a NV add on and if it is ok you can buy these for around £100 new and very good AND with target turrets ... they brought in to fox firearms and service I’ve had always good ... I was told they are brought in by other people under a different name ( wasn’t given it ) & rebadged and around £350
I’m hopeful it will be fine for NV add on

I went to try it and initially it looked good but within minutes I broke the side focus wheel so I sent it away see if repairable ... it was .... bit 2 Nd time this happened and guy who fixed it said was common fault as not greatest design internally ... kind of put me off ...... I think will work but I’m in desert for last two weeks & another three to go so I won’t get to try till then ..... I bit bullet and bought a Sightron S-tac the 3x16x44 or 42 version so that will be main scope to use with waddy add on ... lot of experimenting to do when home ...... I’ll keep fox fire arms scope on an air rifle to use and. Still have an add on Bruce made me I can use on it as well as wardy
