Solaris OVRLUX laser

Post by angrybear » 24 Aug 2018, 10:46

Sorry if it's a bit too close to the SRX thread but does anyone have any info on the Solaris OVRLUX laser I can't find anything at all on line.

I picked it up off the bay as "never used", which going by general condition is probably true.
Only had a quick play so far, it doesn't have outright range but the light seems good, although there's not much difference between flood & zoom,
also the 3 power levels can only be set from OFF at the button, but with the rat tail they work with the light ON so I'm not sure that's working as it should.
Hope to have more of a play with it tonight.

Was Ovrlux the old name of Torch Factory ?
Ta,
Steve.

Well in the field it's a stunning bit of kit with a serious range.
If anything it's too bright :wtf: even at it's lowest power & flood beam it rather overwhelms the Ward at 4x, wind the scope up to 8x & it's perfect.

Lit up the local timber yard at 600m, & was good enough to make out a property over 1km across the valley

Had the srx for a week , not tried it on the ward , but on the Drone ?thought my bs2 75mm light was good , but wow ! Really , really good , in a t20 sized package ! Think should of just got the high powered version , instead of the 3 mode , but time will tell ! Still carnt believe how clear the image is compared to the as led , moot point ordered at 3pm , arrived in the post next morning ! Carnt complain about that , lastly at night the tail cap glows red to indicate its switched on , transforms a drone as Mini Magnum stated....

Bought on an impulse , last one i used was a N1000 , things have moved on ! Still very impressed with the clarity of the unit , the 75mm bs2 torch i was using was good , but this gives it a bit extra , best i.r illuminator ive bought and used.....can record off the drone onto the i-pad , but not sure how to upload from wifi avin..

JUst tried it on a ward 800s , think I prefer the A.S led , the Srx.works well but probably too much ! Suits a drone perfectly , on the 10x drone . Also tried it on a 5x drone ,just about filled the screen on full flood, perfect to accompany the thermal spotter.....
