It doesn't seem to be illuminated, but the new Sightron S-Tac 4-20×50 MOA SF Seems to otherwise be a possible contender, though until someone tries it (I read they may have new coatings on the lenses, but can't confirm if they are any different from those on the bigger S-Tac); seems to fit the bill in other respects.

Yes I saw that but thought it didn't need to be illuminated on NV?

The 4-20x50 S-Tac is NOT illuminated and looking at the objective lens it does appear to have different coating to its big brother, however I can assure they are both brilliant with my Ward 700/IR attached.

I had the 3-16x42 MOA and it is excellent with NV.
However the reticle is not illuminared and it's very fine, which can make it difficult to see during normal day scope use.

Do you think it’s finer or far off the Hawke 1/2 mildly reticle? Might just go for a Hawke Vantage

Can't say, I'm not familiar with that Hawke reticle.

I am looking at purchasing one of the to go on a Howa mini action in 204 for foxes out to 200+ metres but I also need to buy a scope.
I like the sound of the new Vortex Diamondback Tactical FFP in 4-16x44. It has the same reticle a s my PST Gen ii but from what I have read digital NV and Vortex don't play that nicely together. Would this scope likely to be the same?
The other option I was looking at is the Falcon M18+ 4-18x44 for around the same price here in Australia. I want to stick with FFP so there aren't alot of options in that price range.
Any help much appreciated

I recently bought a Hawke Frontier FFP 3-15x50.
This is first foray into FFP scopes, and I went with the Hawke because I liked the reticle and particularly the low turrets.
You can still dial with it, but when they are down in the locked position they are not much higher than on a non dialling scope
I have it on a 22 rimfire and use it with the addonight.
I'm more than happy using it during daylight and with the add-on

Thanks for that Bruce.
Any idea what the Hawke Sidewinder FFP 4-16x50 would be like in comparison?

Sorry, I've not looked through that scope, although a lot of people seem to rate in highly for NV work
