Warden Adder Scopecam Pricing

Post by cliveward » 07 Sep 2018, 16:42

Hi All,

We have stopped serious trade sales of the Warden Adder Scopecam now, due to other vendors jumping on the back of the product and our efforts and selling the standard or should that be sub-standard Chinese factory offering (claiming it to be exactly the same) at a much lower price because they...(a) Don't have to do any work, (b) Don't have to offer a trade discount and (c) in most cases don't have to worry about pesky VAT, etc. :shh:

This is a real shame because they were all offered the Warden Adder at trade pricing but for some inexplicable reason decided to sell a worse product, with high returns and make less money.

It won't make any difference to us because most of our sales have been through gun shops at trade pricing, so we will just continue to sell direct to the consumer at that price (actually quid less if we're being completely accurate). The only losers are your local gun shops and those consumers that want to purchase some NV from their local shop and not wait 6 months for the near monopoly that is wholesale NV in the UK to deliver it to them. :(

It was worth a try as an experiment. The proper gun trade and shops loved it, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the small dealers within our own niche industry.

Anyway lets not end on a downer. The plus side is you can buy the Warden Adder now direct from us for even less money than you could direct from China, and it won't blind you or burn your house down either.

On a serious note, the Warden Adder does also have some quite important and noticeable performance and ergonomic improvements as well.

Cheers

Your route was worth a try Clive, I've always thought you were maybe initially led to believe you were going to be a sole importer supplying the UK (at least) trade which would account for the elevated cost with its associated overheads.

Hi Bruce,

That's correct. We have taken the decision to bin the trade sales because the shops were getting fed up of explaining to customers why it was more expensive than something they had seen on Ebay / FB, etc. that looks the same.

Rather than keep the price artificially high, we have taken the decision to just continue sales at the normal price direct to end users. It seems fairest to me.

Any recent direct retail customers of ours of Warden Adders have also received an unexpected retrospective refund for the price difference from us today as well.

Cheers

Would four weeks class as a recent purchase? therefore giving me an unexpected retrospective refund of the difference.
