DIY in California
DIY in California
Hello all. My name is Erik and I live in California, USA. I already put up this post, but I think I put it in the wrong section. I just want to say thank you for all of the great videos you guys have posted on YouTube. It inspired me to build my own DIY night vision screen add on system and get out there and do some ratting. I love it. The system works great and I've been having some good times taking out rats. Although it's kind of hard for me to find good spots, I've done ok though. There are so many rules here in California. I can't go to any dumps but I've been able to find farms to go to. I used the E-700 camera, a 4.5" screen, a T-20 infrared light and a little 1800 mAh battery. The small battery does great and powers the system for hours. I had it on for over four hours before and the screen and camera are still running fine. I need to change the T-20 battery once usually while I'm out. I wanted to ask you guys what specific parts are you are using from Floplast. I'd like to order them for my own setup. I ended up using some rubber under the sink type plumbing parts and it's working ok. It's just since they are rubber, there is some movement and flexibility to the install. I think the rigid hold of the hard plastic parts might be better. If someone could help me with that I would appreciate it a lot. Thank you.

these are the parts I use

but I don't know if you can get metric pipe and fittings in the USA. It is for sink waste and would be 1.5" I imagine.
As it's solvent weld you have a small amount of play between the fittings which can be sorted with a wrap of electrical insulating tape or you could use the adhesive once you've got the length correct.
