Pard NV-007

Post by nealh » 31 Dec 2018, 20:37

My Pard NV-007 arrived today without a user manual.
Can someone tell me which end of the battery goes in first?
Cheers,
Neal

Positive goes into the battery holder.
Negative to the screw in cap.
Give me an e mail address and I'll send you a manual in Word format.

Cheers

Sorry to resurrect an old thread - I bought a PARD and the Ma Ian is next to useless, a forum search lead me to this thread - would anyone please be willing to share the updated manual please?

How many variants of the 007 are there?
I have a Warden Adder bought in May 2018 which has a laser for the IR illuminator. I have noticed that the Blackwood Outdoors instructions refer to an LED IR illuminator............? There has been some discussion on lens size and software upgrades also. Would someone like to provide information on the various software and hardware updates to date? Also should one be unfortunate enough to format the memory and I can't understand why the system permits that, is the unit 'bricked' or can it be recovered

Cheers,

Malcolm

AFAIK There is one software up grade which can be applied to the early versions.
The difference is that the new software includes a "zero adjustment" feature that, when selected, puts a cross in the centre of the screen.
The position of the scope reticle on the display can be moved to coincide with the cross thus ensuring that the scope reticle is in the centre of the screen.
Once that is done the cross would normally be switched off
CRS built a mounting bracket so that the NV007 could be mounted on a rifle and use for short range ratting.
In this situation the cross becomes the aiming point

The only hardwar changes are to lens focal length.
Most have a 16mm lens. a very few early models had a 25mm lens (no longer available) and now there are 12mm lens models available because some people seem to like the lower magnification it provides.

All NV007s have 2 laser illuminators
There is a red visible pointer type laser and there is the main IR illuminator which uses one of the new generation vcsel lasers.
Because these vcsel lasers were new and had (to my knowledge) never been used as an IR illuminator before, and look more like an LED than a traditional laser, many people (myself included) assumed that the IR illuminator was an LED.
I/we were wrong the main IR illuminator is a laser, but a type which is much safer than previous generation lasers

Cheers
