The Antis are winning
Re: The Antis are winning
I am a great believer in having respect for your quarry. That respect is what I use to get Charlie within range to humanely dispatch him. I do not hate foxes. I would never want to see them wiped out completely. If there were no foxes just about everyone on this forum would lose out on spending quality time catching up with their mates of an evening in pursuit of Charlie.
I can remember many years ago reading an article regarding calling foxes. The guy was asked what his best call was to bring foxes in at the gallop. His reply was a new born baby crying. You have a listen to a new born baby crying and it is very close to a rabbit squealing.
I have hens, I also have a pheasant pen situated just over 200yards from the house. The pheasants are nothing to do with me. The shoot just finished their first season, They put 450 birds here and spread another 2000 on other parts of two other farms next door. They were hammered with vermin on the other farms. So much so there shooting was severely affected. The pheasants next to me, that were just an experimental venture that were meant to only be a one day shoot, turned into 9 days of shooting. The birds from further down the valley were migrating up here as they were not getting bothered with Mr Fox here. The guy that is tending to the pheasants, said he has hardly lost a bird up here and can not believe how many made it through to the shooting season. I still shoot the Foxes on the Farm although I am nothing to do with the pheasant shooting. It is something I have done for years and always look forward to getting out away from the computer, tv and such.
Spoke to the guy that looks after the pheasants and he informs me that they are putting down 2500 poults on the Farm here for next season. I reckon I might be getting a few more Foxes coming a calling this year.
They say that when you shoot a Fox 2 come to its funeral and never leave.

Well they wouldn't leave, you bury them next to their mate... lol.
But of course in the world of the media it is seen as black or white and not shades of grey.
