Re: Hey foreign guys...Yankee question
I think he was screwing with me.
49 Chevy P/U with a small block 350. I built a 51 decades ago. There's not enough cab room for a modern manual, and it still has the factory master cylinder location. You just don't have enough room without going to a firewall mounted master set up. It's a lot of work, and you end up with your knees in your chest.

Hello Frogman
, your last sentence in your post copied below etc. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
What would be the "proper" (more like "rough") english slang way to tell him, "It ain't gonna fit"
The words "It ain't gonna fit". does not exist in the psyche of any UK enthusiastic custom building, DIY, hands on, tool wealing, midnight oil burning, oily clothed, self taught, motoring engineer, fabricator, bodywork finisher. Over here we would just throw 2 extra teabags in the teapot and break out a giant packet of chocolate Hob-Nobs and turn the radio on to Classic FM at about three quarters of full volume
Take a few basic measurements, grab hold of a plasma cutter and in a quick burst of well aimed cuts create a transmission tunnel void fit for any ZF gearbox. "If you can dream it we can build it" is the ethos to be followed at all times no mater how long the project takes, any indecisions should be suppressed with a higher intake of caffeine.
Hope that the the above helps you Frogman
Best regards etc.
Phil
