At a guess 200-250Yrds +. It's on one of the colour palletes, it's one of the most definitive I've found for actual definition of the heat source. It's on white hot but shows as black. Its a good way of seeing if it's a sheep or fox as the sheep's bodies don't give off the same heat as their heads whereas the foxes body is all black (apart from their missing tails  ).

Edit to add: For anyone without experience of thermal, look at the sheep in the centre of the pic and you'll see a 'bigger' black heat spot. It's where the sheep has just got up from lying down and the heat still shows on the floor. Also look how easy you see the sheep 'through' the tree.

Best image? By me??? I'll take that one, I never thought I'd ever hear that with my photographic skills
It's a strange one, on standard black hot it isn't as defined but in all honesty I hardly ever use the colour palettes. It's easier and quicker to turn the nv on or flick the lamp on at times.

Edit to add: I've just noticed I took the same picture in the standard black hot, you can see it doesn't give the same detail. It doesn't seem to show the slight heat difference between the sheep's head and body the same. Although it still shows the heat sources well. The heat source from where the centre sheep was lying down stayed there for quite a while. I'll attempt to add the pic to the previous page so you can compare them side by side.

THESE CAMERAS WILL PICK A MOUSE UP FROM A 100 METERS AND GIVE YOU THE TEMPERATURE OF IT ON SCREEN ,,LARGER ITEMS WITH ZOOM FUNCTION OVER HALF A MILE AWAY
Hmmm, half the price of others and half a mile is plenty, or is someone telling porkys. That's assuming of course you can actually see clearly what it's detecting.

a quick google didn't turn up the specs of the one in your link rodders. but in my experience of the lower end devices. they detect heat very well, its resolution that costs.

you might well be able to see a mouse at 100yrds but i bet you couldn't tell it was a mouse

That's what I'm thinking Adam. Not really fussed at the moment, I'll wait a while and see what happens to prices, thermal seems to be coming on in leaps and bounds and that can only lower prices.
When they can pick up a mouses fart at 300 paces for £50 I'll get one

you like a bargain rodders, i'll say the for ya

the cheaper ones can be used for spotting. but its just not gonna be anywhere near as good as a guide or pulsar (obviously)
if you are sitting on a bait point waiting for a fox to come in, then you don't necessarily NEED a high res image....same if you are just shooting rabbits. you'll soon get to recognize the size of a rabbit. and it would work well enough for picking up as well

but having said that i think a would rather spend that kind of money on a decent tubed spotter
