hi all I am new to the site I have got a Yukon xt not impressed with it as yet probably need to have a play with it to set it up right.

Welcome aboard buddy.
Photon xt is a good unit for the money, have you tried it with a t38. If not, you'll be surprised.

I have tried it with a t20 800 which is to powerful I am getting a lot of bright light in the bottom of the screen, I have just got a nightmaster 400IR to try they say they are good.

One of the first things that you learn here is that you don't need a lot of IR. Three mode t20 would be perfect for you.
Some nights you don't need IR at all.
