Now would be a good time to nip out and buy a lottery ticket (and remember I suggested it when you win a few million!)weebster wrote:Ordered some bits n bobs from fast tech on the 6th nov, shipped on the 7th,arrived today...nowt missing.

Yeah right, when it comes to winning anything on the lotto I get nowhere,in fact when it comes to money if it wasn't for bad luck I'd have no luck at allterry1001 wrote:Now would be a good time to nip out and buy a lottery ticket (and remember I suggested it when you win a few million!)weebster wrote:Ordered some bits n bobs from fast tech on the 6th nov, shipped on the 7th,arrived today...nowt missing.

You've got to be in it to win it. About 15 years ago I had my numbers come up - on a week when I didn't have a ticket in. 2.75 million OZ dollars, or 1 pound 30 pence in real money.
I find it a useful tale for finding out if someone is hung up on money and therefore not likely to pay at the end of a job. I've seen guys dance around in circles holding their stomach like they've been stabbed at the idea of all that money getting away. People are strange.

Treasure! Well close enough. My order of 18650B Panasonic protected 3400Mah button top batteries arrived from Banggood. Ordered 26/10, shipped 5/11, received 22/10. Went via Malaysia. I just ordered another 10.
Using discount code bgf120 at checkout they work out just a shade under 10 pounds a pair delivered.

Had a similar experience with missing a win on the lotto,t'was in the early days when it was saturdays only and the jackpots were around the 10 mil mark.Radagast wrote:You've got to be in it to win it. This particular week was one of those rare 'roll over' jackpots.....I wrote down 6 random numbers to do but when I looked at them I thought 'nah!,they'll never come in'....so I split them into 2 lines adding another three numbers to each.
Well if I had left them alone I would have had 5 numbers and the bonus ball, those that had that come in on that week got £168,500 give or take a few squids
I won a £10
Re: Deliveries from China...
Hey, at least you won ten quid!
When I was 14 I decided that working for a living was not a good idea, so I needed to win the lotto. I decided a bit of divine intervention would help, so I tried praying for the first and only time in my life. Not sure who might be listening, I was quite ecumenical, praying to Shiva, Jehovah, Jesus, God, Buddha & Odin. That week I won $7.70. The next week I won $8.80. Having received my winnings, I considered myself to be on the receiving end of a bad joke. I stuck my finger in the air in the general direction of UP! and declared "stuff you! I'm not propitiating for $16 bucks!" Haven't prayed since, not even when I was going under the knife with a 1 in 5 chance of not waking up. Didn't win a penny for 25 years either. A couple of Christian friends were ticked pink by this story - they liked the idea that their god had a sense of humour.
