Re: Thermal..... Again!
I think it's supposed to be hammering down tomorrow. I cancelled tonight because I thought the rain was coming in but it looks like it's not coming until 11 so we rearranged and are off out at 8 for a couple of hours..

It's not me or the foxes that don't like the rain, Darren, it's my nv gear.

We've got high seats but they're a bit open.
If I built a hide, someone would be living in it within a week

pop up hide if your keen. or just wait for a dry night
Re: Thermal..... Again!
45" fishing brolly stuck to a hat keeps the rain off kit when walking, but if its a bit windy you'll need a couple of ratchet straps under the chin.
Failing that stay in and moan about the rain like me

i nearly always shoot on foot or from high seats. if the weathers bad and i'm feeling keen. i'll wear a polish army poncho which is long enough to hide the rifle under....nice when its real cold as well

I'm certainly not afraid of getting wet. Poncho's are great on those nights with unsuspecting showers but if I know it's dry one night and not the next I'll make the most of the dry one.
If I know it's a wet night I only go if I have to get that fox that night, then I use a bivi type shelter.
You are right about the foxes loving the wet weather when they think no ones around. They are my most productive evenings for the traps. Often times after a rough night there's one in, in the morning so I let them do the work to save me drying off my kit.
No joy last night, didn't even see one, none in the traps this morning either
