Nice one James, always embarrassing when one turns up at home, if it's any consolation we had one on our driveway at 3 this morning!!

Good to see you got it sorted :)

It looks like he was pulling at the chicken when you shot him and he let go but he went backwards then.
Good result.
I think I might have sorted my battery problems on the guide. Been the bane of my life. Will do a write up next week if it works.

Cheers chaps. It always amazes me how they keep turning up year after year but at least it gives me something to do in the dark.

Gloop, I didn't realise you were still having problems with batteries. I never charge mine before I go to top up but they always last the 2 hours at least. Good to hear you're getting it sorted though..

cheers anthony r for the demo the other week. thomos jacks replaced my old 518ec with a new unit.at last they had it 3 weeks, chinesse new year or some crap. any way what a differance power up and thats it. it works. i found that palet number 8 works best nice and bright and shows up the heat sources up really well. all users try it and report back. re batt problems did you no that normal nihm batts loose 25% off their charge in the 1st day then something like 5% every day there after thats why the batt indicator doesnt read full. try these look on ebay. durucell durlock 2400ma left them a week and still full charge on the guide battery. i almost got 3 hours out of them. on the fox front our shoot was cleared out i thought nothinng about. my shooting freind who live in the middle of the estate went to work the other day and found a fox on his drive going though the bins and it would not leave even with a german shepard pup barking at it. so he went back inside .the fox came back to the bins straight away jumped onto the table. my mate shot it with a.22 from 1st floor window from a range of 5 yards max. where did he come from. well he's not going back. always be on your guard there never far away.ps vixen call has taken 2 this week.

Glad you have got your Guide sorted finally and that you are keeping on top of the foxes. I managed to get another one from my box this evening. :)

nice one. we have a laser shy one over here seen it 3 times gone like a shot but not missed any lately. we have got a baited spot with 3 pigeons on it. took 3 nights for them to go.put two more on spot straightaway but no takers on the first night. any sergetions reguarding bait.
its goner be a tricky one.

I've been baiting this one for 2 weeks now, it shows up every night & as you can a bit jumpy, i will get it when I put in the effort, in the last 48 hours I've also had visits from a dog, a cat, a badger & a squire

I will get it
