but... like in australia? a big gunshooting took place, then all manner of changes occurred? here in america? we're not supposed to allow "one incident" to allow the government to come in and take rights away... they might be using that one incident as an "excuse"

i went through the "long explanation" of freedom and gun rights? and the natural right to self defense? so you could get "some idea" that we are not all "crazy". i think just about EVERYONE knows a women that has been raped, has worked somewhere where the place gets ROBBED multiple times... had their homes broken into. Why should some woman be afraid to walk home late at night after the bar she works at after it closes? with all her tip money? why should she be preyed upon by street criminals or RAPISTS... simply because she is small and wek, and cant afford to live in a rich crime free community?
why should any person, that cant afford to live in luxury and a "nice area", be hounded by criminals that make you empty out your pockets when they see you? thepolice cant protect everyone, all the time, we all know it. I assume even lovely LONDON has its bad areas... and people unfortunate enough to live there, why do the criminals get to KNOW they cant be stopped if they want to prey on people?
no one ever hardly makes a "news story" about crimes that get STOPPED by law abiding citizens with guns. when the "scary man" following the women home? when she pulls her gun out of her purse? and the robber or rapist runs away? theres no news story about it... when someone's grandma shoots ADDICTS breaking into her home to get her pain medication they know she has? when grandma shoots them, they run away, she calls the police?
it doesnt in any way ever make it into your "lovely statistics", does it.
it rarely gets a news story. no one gets to see the "good side of it", ever. WHY> easy... its not a good story...a "good" story SCARES you... the news and the newspapers have a saying that "if it bleeds, it leads".
