For history -Edinburgh Castle plus a shit load of other castles all over the place
For booze - Whisky distilleries everywhere
For scenery - The NC500 route and anywhere in the Highlands
For Golf - St Andrews
For the best accommodation- Gleneagles Hotel
I'm sure my fellow Scots on the forum will be along with their suggestions.

Cheers

The five sisters of Kintail (...no,it's a hill range!), around lochs Rannoch, Earn or Loch Tay ( the back road on all of them is lovey, but choose your time carefully), Oban is v good for seafood, Speyside for distilleries and Glenlyon, Deeside for scenery, Grantown to Knockandhu road, Glenlivet and Strathdon, all depends what you are looking for, Mull is nice, avoid Skye! Aiberdeenshire for windmulls :lolno:

If you’ve got time might be worth thinking about getting on a train ......for example, the Fort William - Mallaig route will take you through some stunning scenery.....

I go up to the West Coast around Oban every year....stunning!

A big thanks to Bruce, Spiralviral, WeeJohn, Mchughcb and Fizzbangwhollop for their responses and information.
If the wife and I get to come we are most interested in staying in Bed and Breakfast type places and seeing the Highlands.
The train ride seams the ticket. Thanks guys.
Making the trip is contingent upon the results I get form an MRI at MD Anderson in Houston Texas the 12th of March.
Thanks again.
Neal
