Pard 008P will not accept firmware V205

Hello all

New to the forum

I have had a bit of a google but have not managed to find any info on this so thought I would ask on here.

I have a Pard 008P my wife kindly bought this for me of a Ebay seller new Pard. I'm guessing its not a UK approved model.

I wanted to update to the latest firmware V 205

I have two friends who both have Pards 008P and 008P lrf. We down loaded the firmware from Blackwoods outdoors.

It loaded perfectly on both of my friends units as describe power light flashed and update check firmware version all great.

Loading the very same 32Gb micro SD card in to my Pard and the unit just turns on and will not go into update mode. Ie flashing power light and update.

Has anyone got any ideas on this?

Possibly because yours is not a UK spec model.

Thank you for you short words of wisdom!

As with many things in life you pay your money and take your chance, as it was a birthday gift.

The other two Pards are both none UK variants and have taken the update ok.

Can Any one else be a little more helpful to a new member than this?

I was hoping to reduce eye glare I have found the Pard brightness hard on my vision even when set to low.

I have been doing 3/4 hours of night rat shooting.

Having read through various forums, on here and other sites. It would seem others have found the 2.05 update gave them a lower setting in brightness.

The two Pards of my friends have both updated showing this is possible, they can set a lower screen brightness level.

My Pard does work very well out of the box and I get if it isn't broken don't fix it approach, but I would like the option of lowering the glare giving my eye sight less strain.

I have played with various combination of settings but not found a combination that suites me.

Open to suggestions on settings, but would ideally like to try the update as it would seen to solve the issue.

You can reduce screen glare by using some coloured film such as found on many sweetie paper wrappings.
You can also buy circular colour filter that will fit inside the rubber eyecup

Im using the pard 008p and was having trouble with screen brightness when shooting at night so i got one of them fillters in green that bruce as mentioned and it works great and cheep.

Hi thanks for the ideas on the filters will give them ago.

Have been playing with the Pard, it would seem its not recognising the fact that a SD card has been installed.

Hence not being able to update me thinks.

Now I have tried three different SD cards including a brand new one from Argos today all 32Gb last one a SanDisk.

With a SD card installed is will not record video and comes up with memory error at the bottom of the screen.

Any ideas on this would be helpful.

Make sure to format the sd card on you pc be for you use it.
