I'm new to the site and I'm clearly doing something wrong. I picked a topic to look at but when I clicked on it although it opened it was greyed out and I cannot comment or ask s question. What am I doing wrong

It's your phone mate. Search around on the screen and you'll see it's asking you to choose how to view the forum.
If you still have trouble switch to desktop mode
