PCP charging, new bottle and hose grrrr
PCP charging, new bottle and hose grrrr
I bought a new diving bottle for a gun online so today I went to the local dive shop to get it filled and to get a hose so that I can charge my rifle.
The guy filled it up and sold me a hose.
9pm tonight I got to the farm and thought I would fill up the rifle with my new bottle and gauge. So soon as I finished filling it to 230bar it dawned on me.... No bleed valve....AHHHHHH
So I was in the middle of nowhere, with a rifle stuck to a charging bottle!!!
Luckily we had a flat head screwdriver handy so I could use it to pop the coupler off from the rifle.
So I'm not happy, the fitting he sold me doesn't do what he has recommended it for, could have broke an expensive rifle and potentially I was endangered in the process of fixing it.
The fitting has some marks where I tried to use a wrench to get it off, he shouldn't refuse a refund because of that should he?
Anyways, I've sent him an email so I hope a reply when they are back in the shop Monday morning!

Re: PCP charging, new bottle and hose grrrr
Paul if he sold you the hose for the reason of filling your gun and it wont do it then i would guess that its not "fit for purpose" so i cant see any reason you wont get a full refund
Re: PCP charging, new bottle and hose grrrr
Most dive shops do not have hoses for airguns. So whether he actually understood what you needed is possibly more the question. Doesn't help, I know. But bloody annoying.

I wouldn't ask him for any fork handles, not after the mistake with the O's

The guy is a Airgun shooter himself, so he knew what I wanted. He probably just overlooked the fact of bleeding the air out (so did I)

Think I would have assumed that it would have been purpose-built too, Paul.

I think i would of tried it before going out with it, but you live and learn.
Re: PCP charging, new bottle and hose grrrr
So how did it go?
Re: PCP charging, new bottle and hose grrrr
He replied saying that if I bring the bottle and the hose he will have a look at it for me. So it's good news, only problem is that the shop isn't on my way to anywhere so it will have to be a special trip. The reason I bought a Big bottle was so that I didn't have to keep taking trips up there. Lol. Typical.Gloop wrote:So how did it go?

Forgot to update you guys on this.
I took it back to the shop and ended up paying an extra £30 (£60 in total for the gauge and hose)
Oh we'll had to be done.
