Evening all, just joined over the weekend so hello to everyone, just about to start looking at NV add ons and reading the posts, it looks like i have joined the right forum.
I live in the broad acres and am fat and bald.
Which is the best IR illuminator for range in your opinion, the N1000 or the Nightmaster 800?
Thanks
Keg

"I live in the broad acres and am fat and bald."
You'll fit in well here.
For an IR illuminator I highly recommend You start with Marky 610s Youtube channel to get an idea of what is available. He's pretty much the mad scientist of illuminators on this forum, though I suspect he would prefer the title "Bodger In Chief".
Sikastag is his Igor, actually producing his designs to order for the market. The NM800 design is pretty much 4 generations back in Marky's bodgering, great if you want to buy commercial off the shelf, expensive and ineffective if you have half a clue about screwing parts together.
Read the thread about laser safety before purchasing an N1000, the problem with IR lasers is that with IR there is no blink reflex to make them eye safe to non target life forms. If you could potentially lase livestock or humans on your hunting grounds then consider LED IR instead.

Thanks all, Gloop, now added my location, looking at yours, I used to work in Thatcham many moons ago at Sony and lived in Hermitage.
